Moving, Recovering & Crating

Moving: A big part of our business is moving tables from one residence to another. This usually happens when someone sells their home and moves, or sells their pool table to another party, or purchases a used table.

We need to know the size of your table being moved. (Usually a 7′, 8′ or 9′ table.)Regulation size only means it is twice as long as it is wide, so we need more information than just regulation size. If you measure inside the table, where the ball hits the rubber from end to end and side to side an 8ft table would be 44″ x 88″.

Most home tables have three pieces of slate. Slate is extremely heavy and it is easier to move when in sections. We can usually tell by the style or brand of the table. Almost all home tables are 3 piece slate tables. Most one piece slate tables were made for commercial use only. Bars have coin operated tables that are 1 pc slate. We do not move one piece slate pool tables, but recommend calling a moving company if you must have one or need to move one. ( we will re-felt them, re-rubber and do some types repair work on them)

That is one reason it can be important to know the brand of your table. We have been in the business long enough that if you state the brand it tells us a lot about the type of table you have. This can help us determine a time line for your job. The average time to take a table apart properly is 1 to 1.5 hours, then we have the loading, travel and unloading of the pool table. Lastly we have the set up which can be 2.0 hours to 2.5 hours; again depending on the type of table and other factors. We usually reuse the same cloth when we move a table, but you can always choose to get new cloth and we can give you quotes on all of the work with a simple phone call. This timeline helps you to understand how long we will be at each residence to help with your planning or schedule.

Last but not least we need to know where to pick the table up and where we will deliver it too. There is no extra charge for Service work in the tri-city areas of Fort Collins , Greeley , Loveland and North to Wellington and most places in between. ( of course this includes Timnath, Windsor, Eaton Ault, Pierce , Johnstown and so on)

Outside that area we do charge for mileage and time.

If you are selling your home and buying another and the dates leave you with a few days in between we can pick up the table one day , store it for a few days to several months and then reset it when your new home is ready. Just let us know your situation and I am sure we can find a solution!

Recovers are the re felting of your pool table. We need most of the same info for a recover as for the move.

The size of the pool table is the most important information to make sure we cut the cloth correctly for your size table.

We have over 30 colors to choose from and the prices we quote are using our 22 oz Teflon invitational cloth by Championship. They have been our cloth supplier for over 20 years and we always get consistent quality from them. You can always upgrade to their Tour Edition Cloth or the well known brand of Simonis. They do not have as many color options, but are durable and can offer players  a faster and more challenging game… from a ball performance perspective. Those come at a slightly higher price.

All of our cloth is minimally 75% wool and 25% nylon. This is not your fabric store felt.

We will also check your rubber before or during the recover. If your rubber is hard , or very soft in spots it is probably time to change that now also. If you notice the balls not bouncing away from the rubber as good as they use to and the play is a bit flat that can be a sign of rubber going bad, or that the rubber cushion has come loose from the rail. We’ll be able to tell which when we remove the cloth. If it is just loose we will simply re glue the rubber back to where it should be attached.

Please check out our link to Championship Billiards as they are our cloth manufacturer and you can get a good idea of the cloth colors that are available. Just remember not all cloth colors look the same on their web site as they will in person and you can always stop by the store to look at samples in person and even take a sample home if available!!

If your pockets are showing their age along with the cloth, we have many choices for those also.

Set Ups, Tear downs & Crating Slates

We Do set ups on pool tables. Usually you have moved the table or have had some one else move it to your residence. Then we would do just the set up part for you, and if the tear down was done properly we can almost always re use the cloth it came with. Of course you may opt for new cloth if your tired of the color or moved to a new residence where another color would look better with that decor. Doing it at the same time as a set up does save you some money as some of the recover is redundant with the set up any way.

To make sure we can quote you correctly for these jobs we will need to know the size of table, if it is a 3 piece slate and we may have some more questions when you call.

We also tear down tables for people who are usually going to move it themselves, have movers move it,or need it put in another room while they remodel or change out flooring etc.

If you are moving a long way, we also offer Crating of your slates; that way if a moving company moves you or you have to lay them flat in a moving vehicle they should be safe from getting cracked as bumpy roads are not a friend to slates. In our van when we move them from house to house we keep them in an upright position, but this is not always possible for other people to move them that way, hence the crating is the solution. When we crate the slates it is very important that we know the size and the thickness of the slates so the crates will fit snug. We can help you with that if you are not sure how to measure. Give us a call or we can come out to measure if we feel that is necessary

Please call us for quotes on any of our services.!!
