What the job includes
- Strip and dispose of the old cloth and staples
- Inspect the slate bed for cracks or separation
- Clean and prep the slate
- New cloth applied with a professional heat and stretch method
- Cushion rails inspected and reseated
- Reassembly, pocket check, level and a final play test
A recover is the right time to check the cushions and the level, because the table is already apart.
We inspect everything while we are in there and tell you straight if anything else needs attention. If the bounce has gone dead, that is the cheapest moment in the table's life to fix it.

Plays faster, rolls truer and lasts longer. It is what most leagues and serious players want, and what we spec for commercial rooms that get played hard.
Napped
Costs less up front and has a softer, slower roll. Fine for a family room table that gets played on weekends.

What does it cost to refelt a pool table?
Use the quote form or call or text (970) 419-0816 and we will give you a number. We quote before anything is scheduled. Table size and cloth choice are the main things that affect the total, along with whether the table needs releveling and seam work while we are in there.
Is refelting the same as recovering or felt replacement?
Yes. Refelting, recovering, felt replacement and recloth all describe the same job. The old cloth comes off, the slate gets inspected and prepped, and new cloth goes on the bed and rails.
How long does a felt replacement take?
The work itself is typically done in a single visit. The table is apart for the job, so it is also the right time to address cushions or leveling.
How often should a pool table be refelted?
A home table with regular play usually needs new cloth every few years. Commercial tables that see daily play need it more often. Rips, a worn break area and balls that drift on a level table are the usual signs.
My table was put together by someone else. Does that change anything?
Often, yes, and it is worth telling us up front. If a table was assembled by someone other than a table mechanic, a recover usually turns into a full setup: re-doing the slate seams, shimming and releveling. That is most of the labor. Knowing before we quote means the number we give you is the number.
