If the table is coming apart anyway, recover it
This is the single most useful thing to know about moving a pool table. Recovering requires the rails to come off and the cloth to come off the slate, which is most of the labor in a teardown. If you are already paying for a move, adding a recover costs a fraction of what it costs as a standalone visit later, because the table is already apart and the crew is already there.
If the table is coming apart anyway, it is the cheapest moment in its life to put new cloth on it.
Do it during the move if
The cloth is more than five or six years old, or the table is going somewhere it will get played harder than it used to.
Skip it if
The cloth is nearly new. There is no reason to pay for cloth you are not going to notice.
Same goes for cushions
The rails are already off. If the bounce has gone dead, that is the cheapest moment to fix it. More on felt replacement.
And the level
The table gets releveled at the destination either way. Anything else out of spec is visible while it is apart.
